For over 23 years, Federico Marino, master blender and tobacco specialist, has dedicated himself fervently to the world of cigars.
After a long period of study and specializations in different parts of the world, including Santo Domingo, where he followed a full course, from sowing to packaging, Federico had the opportunity to meet one of the most famous people in the world of cigar: Don Alejandro Robaina. He also visited several cultivation fields around the world.
In 2014, Federico embarked on an extraordinary adventure: the cultivation of tobacco in Sicily, bringing this ancient practice back to Sicily after 150 years. It was an exciting journey, an opportunity to explore and rediscover the roots of this fascinating plant that has marked history and traditions for centuries. Initially, Federico cultivated two types of tobacco: Kentucky (for cigars) and Burley (for cigarettes). However, he specialized in the cultivation of Kentucky, which is still produced in his plantations in Sicily.
Thanks to his passion and commitment, the “Nicita“ was born, an Italian-Nicaraguan cigar that brings with it the soul of two lands and two cultures. This cigar is the result of an extraordinary collaboration with Victor Calvo, one of the largest tobacco producers. The Nicita offers a unique sensory experience, will lead tobacco enthusiasts on a journey from land to hand.
In 2023, Federico opened a tax warehouse dedicated to the world of tobacco, offering its customers direct access to his precious creations.
